Can’t wait to get your hands on a new Mercedes-AMG GT R? Piecha can help you out with that. The German tuner has come out with a range of enhancements for the existing model that doesn’t just take it up to R spec – it promises to take it far beyond. At least, that is, as far as output is concerned.

Dubbed the GT-RSR, Piecha’s take on the Benz sports car packs 612 horsepower. That’s far more than the 456 hp in the base GT, the 503 hp in the GT S, and even the 577 in the GT R. Torque is also increased to nearly 620 lb-ft, eclipsing the 440, 480 and 520 lb-ft, respectively, offered from the factory.

Piecha hasn’t detailed exactly how it extracted the dozens of extra horses, saying only that the performance enhancements were developed in conjunction with Performmaster – a company that specializes in chipping AMGs. But you don’t get that kind of increase by changing the software.

Regardless – and despite the added punch – Piecha quotes the 0-62 time at 3.7 seconds, which bridges the gap between the GT S (quoted at 3.8 seconds) and the GT R (3.6).

Rounding out the package are a carbon-fiber aero kit (including underbody diffuser), quad 90mm tailpipes, and Yokomaha-clad rolling stock measuring 275/35 R19 at the front and 305/30 ZR20 at the back.
