All-New Nissan Micra Looks Promising In NISMO Guise

We may have only just got our first taste of the fifth-generation Nissan Micra at the Paris Auto Show and already, it’s time to salivate over a potential Nismo variant.

Rendered here by artist X-Tomi Design, the car includes a plethora of aggressive new styling touches that distinguish it from the regular model and make it fitting over the Nismo badge.

For starters, the front fascia has been overhauled. Key changes include the implementation of horizontal LED daytime running lights, a splitter incorporating two red elements and a couple of extra air intakes on either side of the grille.

Other changes to the car include black and silver wheels, red brake calipers, red side skirts, contrasting black wing mirrors and tinted taillights.

While it’s unclear if the new Micra will receive a Nismo variant, this rendering certainly gives us hope that if it does, it could shake up the compact hot hatch market.

    pretty damn cool.

  • TheBelltower

Well huh… that does indeed look pretty cool.

  • Obsequious Lickspittle

Micra sounds too effeminate. March is far better.

These a re the kind of renders we need to be seeing here, not the stupid ute versions of every car on the market like we saw yesterday from this designer.

engine wise, I would put my bet on the Peugeot 208 GTi´s 1,6 Turbo and around 200 Bhp…

    • Bogdan

Nope, wrong. Renault-Nissan alliance => 1.6 Turbo from Renault Clio 4 RS, maybe.

      • Christian

        But, its the same engine?

        • Bogdan

No, it is not. Renault/Nissan have nothing to do with Peugeot. The engine from the Clio RS is actually a Nissan engine – the MR16DDT 1.6 turbo, also available in the Juke.

The engine from the 208 GTI is the EP6CDTX / EP6FDTX (also on 308 GTI, RCZ, Citroen DS4), a Prince family engine developed in joint venture by BMW and PSA-Peugeot Citroen. Variations are also used by Mini (Cooper S, JCW) and BMW (N13B16 on the 1 and 3 Series)
