Buick’s first model under the recently announced Avenir sub-brand will be the GL8.

Announced for the Chinese market, where it will go on sale on November 5, the minivan comes in  an exclusive ‘Earl Purple’ exterior color, a honeycomb grille with a wing-shaped chrome element extending into the headlamps, and 18-inch aluminum wheels, with an unique pattern.

Emphasizing the car’s special character is a series of interior enhancements and features that include 18 atmospheric colored lighting options, suede roof, plush carpeting and the Avenir logo appearing on the center console, door panels and seats, on top of the usual amenities such as the climate control, infotainment system, leather seats and different trims.

Buick has yet to announce any technical specs, but the regular GL8, previewed earlier this month, is said to benefit from improved handling, ride and comfort thanks to the adoption of a multi-link rear suspension. The engine lineup remains in the dark as well, but rumor has it that it could include a 2.0-liter turbo’d-four, producing approximately 250 HP.
