While electrification is currently spreading like wildfire in the automotive industry, acquiring an all-electric or hybrid car can still be a hit to the wallet. Sondors is a company willing to change all that, but only if you give it a helping hand.

Sondors is a small crowdfunding business that plans to build the most attractive, affordable, and practical electric car ever made, with a base price of $10,000. Moreover, the company’s mission is to offer an electric car that makes sense to the average person, its reasoning being that expensive products won’t help lower greenhouse emissions since few will actually afford to buy them.

According to Sondors, most electric cars are replicas of existing vehicles. That’s why they came up with a three-wheel format, designed from the ground up to express simplicity. What’s more interesting is that the company says this layout creates less drag, which in turn reduces the amount of energy required to move it.

Although there’s no info about the vehicle’s powertrain, Sondors say it will be available in three range options, varying from 50, to 100, and to 200 miles (80, 160, 321 km). The charging process will be done easy, via a normal socket.

In order to make the car a reality, the company need $1 million, but Sondors isn’t at its first product. They’ve actually manufactured an electric bike for $500 in the past after raising $10 million.
