This VW Golf GTI Mk1 project from Lego project needs to gather at least 10,000 votes in order for the Danish company to consider bringing it into production.

Made from 1,278 bricks and aimed at enthusiasts who are older than 16, this special hot hatch would surely look good on our desks.

The person behind this custom project still needs to adjust the roofline and C-pillar in order to replicate the original Golf GTI, and with more than 580 days left to gather the minimum number of supporters, time is definitely on his side.

The scale model also comes with an interior featuring seats, steering wheel, gearshift lever and handbrake lever, in addition to the ventilation buttons, indicators, radio, door handles and others.

As a final touch, a brick-made replica of the car’s engine proudly sits under the hood, along with other details that could help this toy reach the shelves.
