Nissan is making their newly revised 2017 Rogue compact SUV the star of their promotional campaign for the upcoming ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ film.

The campaign will feature Star Wars-themed TV ads, as well as both social and experiential content, plus a full-sized replica Death Trooper helmet which comes with each purchase of the previously mentioned 2017 Rogue, as long as it’s the Rogue One Star Wars Limited Edition model.

“Nissan’s new custom-designed campaign aims to provide Nissan and Star Wars fans exclusive access to the popular franchise in ways they’ve never seen before,” said Nissan North America marketing exec Jeremy Tucker.

“Through this exciting campaign, Nissan offers customers new Star Wars experiences as well as a unique look at what driving with the advanced technologies already available on Nissan’s industry-leading cars, trucks and SUVs brings.”

The 30-second video below is called “Battle-Tested” and will begin airing on Halloween, while a 60-second hero version of the spot will air in cinemas. The 30-second hero spot is said to take place in a fictional Nissan test facility where Nissan engineers are putting the Rogue SUV through its paces in the midst of an epic simulator battle.

It’s supposed to highlight the Rogue’s comprehensive suite of Intelligent Safety Shield technologies, such as Intuitive All-Wheel Drive and Forward Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection – the latter providing both audio and visual display warnings in order to alert the driver of a potential frontal collision.

“Showcasing Nissan’s advanced driver assistance systems in a simulated Star Wars environment, raises awareness for the robust technology offering on the newly refreshed Nissan Rogue in a very different way,” added Tucker. “The message pairs Nissan’s brand-DNA of driving excitement with relevant product information about how our vehicles are engineered to help our customers safely take on whatever out-of-this-world obstacles that they may encounter.”
