The new Peugeot 3008 is ready to hit the market armed with arguably a lot of good qualities that should make it stand out from the competition.

While the exterior design is certainly not revolutionary, it gives the new 3008 a modern, unmistakable SUV presence without offending anyone in the process, which is Peugeot’s way of acknowledging past mistakes.

When it comes to the cabin though, it’s a whole different world; Peugeot calls it the “i-Cockpit”, with the dashboard adopting a wrap-around design, usually reserved for sportscars and supercars, making the 3008 a very special place to sit in. An eight-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Mirrorlink is standard, as well as a 12.3-inch display that replaces the analog gauges behind the small steering wheel.

Customers will be offered a wide range of engines to choose from, including two turbo petrol units and four diesel ones. What they won’t be offered -yet- is an all-wheel drive version but who cares when the vast majority of buyers opt for the 2WD versions anyway.

Mat Watson is reviewing the new Peugeot 3008 in the latest CarWow video and judging by his impressions, the competition should be very worried indeed.
