It would seem that Tesla has come a long way since the days of the P85D jumping out to a lead over something similar to a Corvette Z06, only to relinquish it eventually.

Make no mistake, the Z06 is a difficult opponent for just about any supercar. It’s got a massive 6.2-liter V8, good for 650 HP (659 PS) and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) of torque.

However, the Model S P100D is the quickest-accelerating production car in the world, which means that the Corvette would need a bit of a miracle to catch up to it by the time both cars cross the 1/4 mile marker.

In the end, it’s a close race and you should find out who won and by exactly how much without us giving you any more spoilers. We will say though that this particular P100D set a new NEDRA certified record for a stock 4-door car, running a 10.76 in the 1/4 mile event at Palm Beach International Raceway.

Would you “dare” race any other 4-door super-saloon against the Model S P100D in a 1/4 mile event?
