BMW is working on the mid-life facelift of the 2-Series Coupe and Convertible, with our spies spotting a lightly camouflaged prototype on a truck.

Much like the M2 Coupe we showed you two days ago, the updated 2-Series will not be that different visually as BMW will focus on a set of redesigned lights all around and a light refresh of the exterior.

The headlights will come with a new lighting signature and new LED daytime running lights, while the taillights are getting a new look. The overall style is expected to follow the latest trends in the BMW range, which started by the 7-Series and the recently revealed 5-Series.

The prototype you see in the pictures also had its dashboard covered, which means that BMW is (likely) planning to make some changes inside too. These will most likely include the brand’s latest version of the iDrive infotainment system along with some new available trims.

We can also expect some of the engines in the range to be further updated, offering better fuel economy and cleaner emissions. BMW is reportedly going to reveal the updated 2-Series Coupe and Convertible in late 2017.
