Jaguar has announced a recall. Only it’s not for one of its more prolific models, like the XE, XF, or F-Pace. Instead it’s for its most exotic.

That, of course, would be the F-Type – but not just any F-Type. This recall is specifically for the top-of-the-line F-Type SVR.

Available as either a coupe or convertible, the F-Type SVR is the most potent version of Jaguar’s svelte sports car. It packs JLR’s signature 5.0-liter supercharged V8, rated at 575 horsepower, and costs upwards of $125,000. Only the long-wheelbase XJR comes close in terms of price at $121k.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, “the bolts connecting the rear lower control arms to the knuckle assembly may fail prematurely.” If that were to happen, the driver would be likely to lose control of the vehicle, and potentially crash.

Now as you might have surmised, Jaguar doesn’t sell a lot of those. So the recall is for only 23 units in the United States, all of them built between February 19 and August 15 of this year. The owners of those vehicles are being notified to bring their F-Type SVRs into the local dealerships to have the problematic bolt replaced.
