New Mercedes-AMG E63 S Edition 1 Has A Sinister Looking Paintjob

The new Mercedes-AMG E63 is celebrating its world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show and the German firm has brought along a particularly special variant.

Currently on display is the eye-catching E63 S Edition 1, finished in a stealthy paint scheme dubbed Designo Night Black Magno. Additionally, the Edition 1 is unique as it includes matte black 20-inch wheels and the gloss-black Night Package.

The interior of the E63 S Edition 1 then includes black nappa leather complete with yellow stitching and AMG Performance seats. Completing the limited-edition model is carbon fiber trim throughout the cabin and ‘Edition 1’ lettering on the steering wheel.

Under the skin, the model continues to use a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine delivering an incredibly impressive 603 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque. All that power is sent to the ground courtesy of an all-wheel drive system and a nine-speed dual-clutch AMG Speedshift transmission with the S reaching 60mph (96km/h) in a neck-(and supercar)-breaking 3.3 seconds and a limited top speed of 186mph (300km/h).

You’ll have to wait until next summer to get your hands on any of the new E63 AMG models in the States.

TBH I would’ve gone with brushed aluminum rims instead of black (especially if it’s not the same shade of black), but i do respect the choice of orange/yellow calipers instead of red ones.

The flat black plastic that fills the center and lower outboard grills in the front looks exceptionally cheap to me, particularly for a car that is probably around $150K.

agreed and the door stripe things makes it look like a non AMG trying to dress like an AMG model.

Thank you, let’s free the world from the abomination that are black rims.

Black rims can look great, when done right, but Mercedes’ idea of all black rims has been a joke. the stupid unpainted lip is so distracting.

Those silly striped along the bottom ruin an otherwise wicked-looking (both literally and figuratively) car.

merc is obsessed with matte black. cmon its time for a change. fantastic motor though

Wicked. Especially if it didn’t have the side stripes.
