For the first time since 2010, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) will not hold a press reveal for a new or facelifted vehicle at the Detroit Auto Show, choosing instead to hold their press conference at CES.

As of right now, it’s unclear what FCA will reveal at CES during their January 3rd press conference, though some have speculated it could be either the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk or a significant tech update such as the long-awaited 2.0-liter Hurricane engine.

FCA could also use this opportunity to update their self-driving Pacifica minivans, according to Autonews – which makes more sense as a CES reveal since the consumer-oriented show in Las Vegas is the place to be for automotive innovation.

Ford will also use CES this year to reveal their updates to their infotainment systems and autonomous driving developments, though without confirmation from an FCA spokesperson, we can only speculate whether or not they will use a similar strategy.

The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas opens Tuesday, January 3rd, 2017 for the media.
