The all-new Honda Clarity is finally hitting U.S. streets, as the first six owners have taken delivery of the fuel cell sedan in Southern California.

Invited at a special event in Torrance, the campus of American Honda Motor Co., the owners took part in a ceremonial delivery after leasing their cars from one of the brand’s six FCV dealerships locally and were joined by certain key officials within the company.

The Honda Clarity Fuel Cell has arrived as the next big leap forward in electric drive mobility, with next-generation style, fun-to-drive performance, and customer comfort. In the year ahead, we will continue the rollout of the new Clarity series of electrified vehicles, to include battery-electric and plug-in hybrid models“, said Steve Center, Vice President of the Environmental Business Development Office at American Honda Motor Co.

Available with an introductory lease price of $369 a month, for 36 months and $2,868 due at signing, the Honda Clarity FCV has zero emissions, 366 miles (589 km) of range, and fuel economy rating of 68 combined MPGe. It’s accompanied by a mileage allowance of 20,000 miles (32,187 km) per year, 24/7 roadside assistance, up to 21 days of an Avis Luxury Rental in California, eligibility for California ‘White Sticker’ single occupant HOV access, and up to $15,000 of hydrogen fuel.
