The “mystery” of the Lamborghini Urus test mule is solved, as it turns out to be just a regular Audi Q7 wrapped in camouflage and Lamborghini stickers.

The disguised Audi Q7 belongs to a German dealer located in Nürnberg who thought that this was a nice way of advertising the upcoming Lamborghini Urus.

Although we feel kind of relieved that this car has nothing to do with the actual model, we can’t help but think that the whole idea behind it is a bit weird. After all, and despite the fact that the upcoming Urus is going to use the same platform with the Audi Q7, we don’t think that having the latter disguised as a Lamborghini test mule passes the right idea to your wealthy customers.

Lamborghini’s upcoming SUV is going to occupy a newfound upper corner of the SUV segment, with its luxurious rivals coming from its sister-brand Bentley and Rolls Royce, which is working on the more expensive Cullinan SUV.

A twin-turbo V8 is reportedly going to power the initial versions of the Urus in 2018, with reports talking about a plug-in hybrid version to follow on a later date.
