Would A 1991 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 Manual With 6k Miles For $18,800 Interest You?

If you’re interested in owning what is one of the lowest mileage VR-4 3000GT in the world, this is probably the car for you.

According to the eBay ad, you’re looking at a first-generation 1991 Mitsubishi 3000GT Coupe VR-4 (all-wheel drive), with a twin turbocharged V6 engine, packing 300 PS (296 HP) and 415 Nm (306 lb-ft) of torque.

The car has just 6,077 miles (9,779 km) on the clock, comes with a 5-speed manual transmission and is 100% Carfax certified, without any accidents. And yes, judging by what we can see in the pictures, this thing seems to be in exceptional shape, both outside and in.

The cabin looks particularly spotless for a 26-year old car, not to mention well-spec’d. As far as we can tell, the car has a multifunction steering wheel (with commands for the audio system), climate control, power windows and electrically-adjustable seats. Speaking of the seats, that leather looks brand new and has zero cracks in it. It’s not easy finding a 3000GT in this good a shape.

Not the most popular tuner car of its day because everyone complained how heavy it was. But it was still one of my favorites.

Jesus, how many of us thought about this for a few seconds? This was a dream car to so many and at $18k, its still attractive as all hell. I could see this becoming much more valuable at some point, especially in this condition. Too bad I have neither the hanger to store the car in, nor the ability to throw money at every single thing I think is cool.

Good words you’ve written and I agree with every single one! Who wouldn’t seriously imagine a world with this in their life – even if only for a few seconds when reading it?! Would LOVE to see this car in real life. I’ve never even sat in one – only ever seem 2 on the road here in Australia. They sold them from ’92 here and I was possessed with getting one but couldn’t even make the time back then to plonk my bum into one on the showroom floor. regretted it ever since. Jeezz Mitsi had mojo back then. Peace all!

Oh yes, oh yes this is so good.

Here in Australia I lusted after this when new in 1991/2 but was about AUD$10K away from realising that dream then. If I had the space and I was in the USA I would snap this up now. I’d have a divorce on my hands but jeeeezzz what a GREAT example this is. Would be fascinating to know the story of the owner and why/how he/she kept it in such great condition. Obviously it wasn’t driven much – be very interesting to know why. I don’t think people generally thought of this as a ‘collectible’ car back in the day. Look at the equalizer on the dash!!!! LOVE IT!!!!! Makes you re-contemplate a world without ‘smart’ software doesn’t it?!!
