Range Rover Velar Lands In The U.S. At The Hands Of Singer Ellie Goulding

Range Rover opted for popular pop star Ellie Goulding to premiere the new Velar on U.S. soil.

The British SUV company debuted the sexy new Velar in the U.S. with a special event at Hearst Plaza in New York that also included a live performance from Ellie Goulding.

Moving on to the actual car stuff now, the new Range Rover Velar will be available with three engine options in the US, starting from a turbocharged 247hp 2.0-litre four-cylinder Ingenium petrol, a 180hp 2.0-litre diesel and a range-topping supercharged 380hp 3.0-litre V6.

Range Rover is gunning for Porsche Macan, Mercedes GLC Coupe and BMW X4 customers among others, pricing the new Velar significantly higher than the Jaguar F-Pace, starting from $49,900.

Apart from its great looks, the fourth member of the Range Rover family also features a tech-infested interior, with a new infotainment system the company calls InControl Touch Pro Duo. The new system is comprised by two 10-inch screens, making the interior not only feel more futuristic but according to Land Rover more enjoyable as well.

A Range Rover Velar will also be auctioned at the East Side House Settlement charity gala on April 13, with proceeds to benefit the East Side House Settlement, a non-profit organization providing education and social services in the Bronx and north Manhattan.

“Velar is now the compelling, stand-out design in its class, showcasing perfectly optimized volume, powerful, taut surfaces and a stunning silhouette,” said Gerry McGovern, Land Rover Chief Design Officer.

Sales of the new Range Rover Velar are expected to start this summer.

    The “British” company?

It is owned by an INDIAN company!

So you prefer the Navigator to this, right?

      News please

That’s like calling Holden american cause it’s owned by GM. Props to Tata though for continuing to make Jaguar and Land Rover cars some of the worlds best.

Love this vehicle, ordering this Fall to replace older LR Sport.

    • Sammie

Tell us how its feels, do you think it will drive better than the Autobiography?

      • AstonMartin

Sammie, as soon as I have an opportunity to drive it I will report back to the blog. The Velar should ride as good as the current Sport however not as good as the larger Autobiography.

    • Astonman

How was your reliability with the LR Sport?

  • Knotmyrealname

I’d much rather have that new Navigator with Kardashi-bum flaunting it.
    NOT.

  • Six_Tymes

ill really be surprised if this doesn’t turn out to be their best seller. lovely design, in and out.

How to sell a car to non car people:
    1. Make it an Suv/ crossover
    2. Have a pop star or beloved popular musician reveal it in a big city
    3. Boom! Sales success!

  • Belthronding Tinuviel

velar is going to be best of best sellers.
range rover is way better than merc and bmw suvs. but my point is that, not only suvs but also velar will capture also 3 series and c class customers,i think.

    • Sammie

      How about the Autobiography?

      • Belthronding Tinuviel

well,we would expect the best in it’s class.

  • RangeLover

Velar look like segment above in terms of look. Price is really attractive in this case comparing to GLC coupe or X4. Even F-Pace looks like poor brother of Velar. But, there is a but. I’d rather be stopping only on gas stations than in mechanics… I wish velar will gave good reliability.
