Jay Leno Takes Delivery Of His 2017 Ford GT

Jay Leno has just taken delivery of his 2017 Ford GT and while the car is worth almost half a million dollars, it’ll be right at home in the comedian’s extensive car collection.

Leno is one of America’s most well-known car collectors so it isn’t surprising that Ford offered him the chance to purchase its latest and greatest mid-engine supercar. Rather than opting for a crazy color, the former late night show host turned YouTube sensation has had the car painted black and completed with bright red racing stripes.

As a reminder, the new Ford GT is powered by a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine that produces 647 hp and 550 lb-ft of torque.

We’ve already heard what a number of journalists think about the car as well as one particularly happy owner and we’re now eagerly awaiting to hear Leno’s take on his new supercar, hopefully in a forthcoming episode of Jay Leno’s Garage.

Probably the best looking Ford GT so far

    • Bo Hanan

I think the previous generation was better. This one is stunning though it does have some odd angles.

      • Belthronding Tinuviel

agreed. that one is gorgeous but ex one was piece of art.

That’s the point because it’s actually a race car. Last one was an anniversary model that never raced. It had a pretty sweet engine mind you, from the F-150 Lightning pickup truck. Supercharged V8. Ford later used it in the GT500 before bored up to 5.8 liters. The supercharged 5.4L was also used in the Harley Davidson briefly.

Each angle serves a purpose, which is why some angles are weird to people expecting a traditional coupe three box shape.

  • Mr. Crankypants

I prefer white because it shows all the lines, angles and scoops which make this incredible machine stand out more than black

  • Craig

How often am I expected to be ‘happy’ for the same guy?

  • Benjamin B.

    Why did Jay pick black?

  • Roger Blackwell

The Ford logo is so outdated on this car
