Manual BMW M2 Takes On Audi TTS From Rolling Start

Even though the Audi TTS is down on power compared to the M2, it still puts up a fairly good fight, perhaps surprisingly.

Since the description of the video only states that the M2 is packing a 6-speed manual, we’ll assume that the TTS is rocking its 6-speed S tronic automatic transmission, which helps it get from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.6 seconds.

In order to achieve that number, it utilizes a 310 PS (305 HP) 2.0-liter TFSI engine that’s actually much better suited to challenge something like a BMW M240i, rather than an M2.

Regardless, in this particular instance, we do have the M2, which is good for 370 PS (365 HP) and 465 Nm (343 lb-ft) of torque, allowing for a 0-100 sprint of 4.5 seconds – would have been 4.3 had this been the automatic version.

Despite the clear separation, we still think this race was pretty close, especially early on and especially when you take into account the power and torque advantage in favor of the Bimmer.

Canted Drivers Seat in the 2 series, ill PASS! And ill keep saying that until bmw comes out with a new 2 series that doesn’t have that laughable issue.

    • Dennis James

I think that even if BMW does what you say, there is no way to stop your obsessive behavior without serious drugs and therapy.

nah, just intentionally being over the top hoping someone important (a decision maker) sees one of my posts one day and They re-think the idea to never design theirs cars with a canted drivers seat. that dumb design move is ridiculous. one more time just for you, HEY BMW PLEASE DON’T DESIGN PERFORMANCE CARS WITH CANTED DRIVERS SEATS ANYMORE. cap locks used for d-bag Dennis.

        • SteersUright

Good for you. Now i also hope GM can design a CAMARO THAT PEOPLE CAN ACTUALLY SEE WELL OUT OF!!
Lets see if this pays off! lol. I sure hope it does!

    TT RS > M2

    • Dennis James

      M2 CS >>>>> TT RS.

  • Arma

    Straight line drivers rock….

    • SteersUright

      I detect the sarcasm here…lol

  • Kash

That’s nice an all but why did they use the TTS over the TT RS?

    • Infinite1

I was thinking the same thing, or at least the RS3

      • Kash

Mehhhhh. Maybe? It’s not really an area that Audi and BMW overlap in. I wouldn’t really put the RS3 and M2 against each other unless the weights were really close.

I dont really get it. Race a higher displacement, higher horsepower, better power to weight ratio RWD car from a fast roll against an AWD lower power to weight ratio car and expect anything but the obvious to happen. Make it interesting, race them from a standstill.
