The Porsche 356C represents the last revision of the 356, featuring disc brakes on all four wheels as well as an optional 95 HP pushrod engine.

This one however, driven by The Smoking Tire’s Matt Farah has just 75 HP and was fully restored by a father and son duo. It also comes with a rally-inspired cabin and some mild body work.

Despite it being really slow, Farah found it quite charming, saying that he didn’t mind the lack of performance as long as he got to enjoy the way it handles and the way it grips, even at low speeds. He even says that by driving a 356, you can sort of get a feel for how Porsche got started with their entire lineage and how the modern 911 came to be one of the best driving cars in the world.

It sounds to us like there aren’t many things wrong with owning a well-restored 356C, even if you plan on driving it frequently. Farah wasn’t all too pleased with the gearbox, but other than that, he gave this thing a huge thumbs up.
