The most powerful version of the new Skoda Octavia, the new RS 245 is being launched in the UK, offered in both hatch and estate versions.

Powered by a 241hp (245PS) version of the turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol TSI engine, the new Skoda Octavia RS 245 offers 15PS more than the outgoing range-topping RS model.

0-62mph (100km/h) comes in 6.6 seconds for the hatch and 6.7 seconds for the estate model, with customers given the choice between a standard six-speed manual and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

On top of the added power, Skoda has given the Octavia RS 245 an electronically limited-slip differential, a set of standard 19-inch black alloys and a gloss black front grille with matching door mirror housings and exhaust pipes and LED adaptive headlights .

The cabin features heated and electronically adjustable front sports seats dressed in Alcantara, gloss black trim details and a lap timer function for the trip computer as standard. An eight-inch infotainment system with WiFi hotspot is also standard.

Prices kick off at £27,595 for the manual hatch version and £28,795 for the estate. The first customer cars will be delivered this July.
