Wrong way drivers pose a serious threat and a video recently posted to YouTube shows how terrifying they can be.

According to the person who uploaded the video, he was following a friend southbound on I-215 in his Hyundai Sonata. Everything appears normal until his friend starts braking and suddenly swerves out of the way. When this happens, the Sonata driver sees a Ram pickup headed straight for him.

The truck slams into the Sonata seconds later and sends the car into a spin. It hits a second vehicle, before coming to a rest against some concrete barricades.

Fox 13 of Salt Lake City is reporting police received the first calls about the wrong way driver shortly before midnight. By the time they arrived at the scene in Taylorsville, Utah the accident had already occurred.

The driver of the Ram abandoned the truck and police said they found drug paraphernalia and some marijuana in the vehicle. The driver hasn’t been identified but the truck’s owner told police he let a friend borrow it for an hour.

Everyone appears to have made it out of the accident okay but things could have been much worse.
