454 HP BMW M3 CS Tipped To Premiere In 2018

BMW may be in the middle of developing both CS and GTS-branded variants of the M2, but it hasn’t forgotten about the M3 and is preparing to release a CS version of it in 2018.

Bimmer Today claims that the new M3 CS will share most of its components with the stunning M4 CS, including its sibling’s upgraded twin-turbo six-cylinder with 454 hp. When fitted into the M3 CS, the sedan will become the most powerful M3 ever produced, eclipsing the 444 hp E92 M3 GTS.

Like the M4 CS, the lightened and more driver-focused M3 will adopt a carbon fiber front lip, the hood of the M4 GTS, a carbon spoiler at the rear and a new diffuser. The OLED taillights will also be carried over to the sedan alternative.

At this stage, it is reported that the M3 CS will hit the market in the spring of 2018 and act as the swansong for the F80-generation M3.

    Just get the Alfa…

The M3 Competiton is as fast on the track and slightly slower in the straight with lesser tyres and less power. If you add Michelin Cup 2s, 10hp and 50nm plus some aero (aka the CS version) it’s game set and match.

75.000 EUR vs 116.000 EUR. Game, set, match and championship.

Comparing base price vs fully optioned lmao

          • Dennis James

No, actually the 116.000 EUR is the base price of the BMW M4 CS. And, for the 75.000 EUR of the Alfa, you get 55 more hp, torque vectoring, modern double-wishbone front suspension, carbon fiber driveshaft, more carbon fiber bodywork parts than the BMW, less weight and more confortable suspension at the same performance level.

          • Kaisuke971

More carbon but still at least 80kg more, way to go… And the performance is similar to a Comp pack not a CS, and with a lesser interior that is. Anyway the M3 will be less expensive.

Actually, as listed on BMW Germany vs Alfa Romeo Germany:

BMW M4 CS weight (EU methodology): 1655kg
Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio weight (EU methodology): 1670kg

          • Kaisuke971

Come on, you know the Italians… In every single independant test, the Giulia is at least 70kg heavier than the M3 Competition, and the M4 CS is even lighter so it’s probably over 100kg lighter. The M3 CS will probably be 20-30kg lighter than the M3 Competition.

          • Dennis James

I know the Italians, like Ferrari, Maserati and Pagani. Something wrong with them ?

    • and replace it after a year when it falls in half

  • Bo Hanan

Just imagine- all the variants of the M4 & M2 are within 100HP of each other. What’s the point? Just by the cheapest car.

  • shit wheels.
