3,000 HP Lamborghini Huracan Goes 257 MPH / 413 KPH In 1/2 Mile!

What do you get when you combine a 3,000 hp, twin-turbo V10 engine with a sequential transmission, all-wheel drive and a drag strip? The world’s quickest Lamborghini Huracan

Built by Underground Racing and owned by Kuwait racing team Drag965, this bright Huracan made headlines in May after reaching 250 mph in the half mile. Fast forward to August and it has broken its own record, sprinting down a U.S. runway at 256.99 mph (413 km/h). That’s faster than the Bugatti Veyron’s vmax and was achieved in less than 15 seconds.

What is particularly remarkable is that this Huracan remains street legal and retains all of its standard creature comforts, including air conditioning and satelitte navigation.

As fast as it is, it doesn’t hold the accolade of the world’s fastest street car. That title belongs to a 2006 Ford GT which earlier this year, hit a barely-believable 293.6 mph (472.7 km/h) in the half mile.

Worlds fastest 1/2 mile car at 256.99! This is a fully loaded street car. The owner could drive this Underground Racing Twin Turbo Huracan across the country if he wanted. Special thanks to the entire Underground Racing team, including Proline Racing, Harry at Precision Turbos, John Reed. Great driving as usual from Gidi Chamdi Thanks you Mohammad @ Drag965 for letting us build this monster for you! – #undergroundracing #UR #UGR @KCHoweth #twinturbo #lamborghini#gallardo #huracan #aventador #lp560 #lp570 #lp700 #lp720 #lp610#spyder #roadster #audi #r8 #ferrari #audi #r8 #superleggera #v10 #v12 #dag965 #turbo #car #shiftsector #race #halfmile

    M2K Motorsports still has it.

  • I DON’T KNOW HOW I MISSED THE STORY ABOUT THE ’06 GT, NOW THAT’S IMPRESSIVE.

    • CAPSTWAT

WHY IS THAT IMPRESSIVE? IT ONLY MANAGED 219.5 OVER 1/2 MILE.

      • WELL BABE IF YOU’RE NOT IMPRESSED WITH A STREET CAR GOING NEARLY 300MPH THEN WHAT CAN I SAY?

Wow the Gallardo and Huracan have become the ultimate drag machines in the last few years, i wonder if they are built that strongly from the get go or if people are just willing to put more effort and money into them because they’re expensive Lamborghinis

    • eb110americana

Probably some of it is that. They are also NA cars with big motors and good aero when everyone else has gone to smaller displacement turbos. You can turn up the boost, but eventually there is no replacement for displacement (and turbos)–and Lamborghini has it (well, 5.2L V10 > 3.9L V8).

Personally I feel like it has to be something about the drivetrain. Otherwise you would see a lot more exotics driving around like this. When it’s TX2K you never see Ferraris or Aston Martins pushing the insane amounts of power, of even see them at all. It’s all Lambos, GTRs, and V8 Americana. The only other thing I can think of is maybe it has to deal with those cars have already been done and therefor you don’t need to be a test dummy. This car was built here for people in Kuwait, you know they have deep pockets and could easily afford to be a test dummy.
