Armored Personnel Carrier Rams Kia Cee’d In Russia

No, this isn’t a scene from a Golden Eye reboot, but rather something that will make you shake your head in disbelief.

The driver at fault here is definitely the person behind the wheel of that BTR-80 personnel carrier. Not only did the armored vehicle hit a civilian car, it did so while running a red light, which you can clearly see in the second video.

As for the first video, it shows how the driver of the Kia actually had a split second in which he saw the military vehicle coming and tried to avoid the crash. Unfortunately it was too late.

While there is no information regarding the aftermath of the incident, we hope the driver of the Kia was uninjured and we’re also hopeful there weren’t any passengers in the back, because that’s where the BTR-80 struck.

Also, getting hit by such a heavy piece of machinery with its own momentum pretty much means that your car has no chance of retaining its original shape after making contact. All the more reason for military personnel to obey traffic regulations and watch where they’re going.

The military tank had an escort car in front and that guy still didn’t see it lol….

    • Jay

Yes, they assumed they were responding to an incident instead of escorting a tank. Very hard to tell the difference. Always look both ways!!

  • RDS Alphard

Isn’t the police car being an escort car?

    • Yes, but they still should have waited at that red light. It’s not like they were in a hurry. Eastern Ukraine is pretty far from that intersection.

      • RDS Alphard

Well, idk how traffic rule works in Western civilisation… here in Southeast Asia, with police escort meant you’re able to ignore ANY traffic lights like any emergency vehicle.

        • Poobert

Yup, that’s how it works in Western civilization too…

  • Erzhik

Military vehicles always get an escort and they never stop on red. However, the problem here was that the escort car didn’t stop and block traffic like they were supposed to do. They went through and kept on going and the APC was too far behind to go in so fast. So the person at fault is the cop in the escort car.

    • S3XY

Person at fault is the little car that hit the APC. Always be aware.

Thanks to dashcams, Russia has more video surveillance than the UK.

    • BlackPegasus

Dashcams are becoming popular in the US as well. American Tesla owners are buying the BlackVue dashcam in record numbers. Because of vandalism to electric cars in some areas, owners want more features from these cameras. They want the cam to act as a security monitor as well as a driving monitor.

That BTR didnt even slow down, damn.
