Car Owner Furiously Tries To Unhitch Vehicle From Repo Man’s Moving Tow Truck

Remarkable footage has surfaced online showing a car owner furiously trying to unhook his vehicle from a moving tow truck.

The cellphone video was captured on Monday in Compton, California by nearby motorists Brittany McDonald and James Harris.

It starts out by showing the tow truck dragging the car along the road as the owner attempts to break his way into the cabin of the tow truck with a crowbar.

The scene gets even crazier as the tow truck driver refuses to slow down, speeding around corners even though the car is sliding sideways behind it. McDonald and Harris attempt to get the tow truck to slow down by pulling in front but it too doesn’t work.

Fortunately, police arrived on the scene shortly after and only then did the tow truck driver bring a stop to the carnage.

Speaking to NY Daily News, McDonald said “A blessing nobody did get hit… Cars had to swerve and the car was spinning… It was crazy. We were following, the tires actually came off… We ran over tires as we recorded the video… It was a sight to see.”

While both the tow truck driver and car owner were released by police after questioning, it is reported that the car owner could face vandalism and other charges.

  • Pay Your Bills

It was a repo and the owner of the car towed is a dumbshit for jumping onto the tow truck and breaking the rear window of the tow truck. However, the tow truck driver paid him back as the car is likely junk after this ordeal.

    • brn

Paid him back? The guy was no longer the owner. The one who suffered the loss was the one that was paying the tow truck driver.

    10/10 Worldstar idiot-certifiable

  • Bo Hanan

At some point the Tow Truck driver became the bad guy in this video- I think…

    • Craig

      Just AS insane. At least.

    • Jay

I think the repo man was the bad guy in the whole video. From damaging the car to begin with, to driving with the owner of the car on the back of his truck. He ran stop signs and red lights. I think he should have stopped when the wheels came off the car because the owner could no longer drive it away.

      • gary4205

In that neighborhood his life was in danger.

The car’s FORMER owner was attacking with a crow bar.

If that was Texas instead of the People’s Republik of Kalifornia, the tow truck driver would have exercised his Second Amendment Rights and that would have been that.

        • Benjamin B.

We have open carry in California. You have to check in with a county sheriff department first.

        • Lawrence A.

If his life was in danger in “that neighborhood” why not just abort the repo?

But by all means alert your gentrifying cohorts in Compton and South Central LA know how their lives are in danger at the next meeting.

      • Benjamin B.

But the guy wasn’t actually the owner.

        • Jay

Just going off of what’s posted..

    • Six_Tymes

nah, he thought the dudes were gonna murder him, so he kept moving.

    • brn

How about the idiots following with the camera. As soon as they got in front of the tow truck and tried to stop it, they were the bad guys.

  • carsmofo

    Compton, California….enough said..

    • Benjamin B.

Compton had gotten much better and East LA in general is a lot safer. Phoenix, Arizona is the worst city.

  • BlackPegasus

Repo jackazz should be charged with criminal damage of property and public endangerment.

    • gary4205

Tow truck driver was in danger from the deranged idiot who couldn’t be bothered to actually make car payments.

As to the damage, that’s between the tow driver and the ACTUAL owner of the car.

    • Benjamin B.

Owner technically was no longer owner. However the lending company was probably pissed.

The dude who jumped on the back of the truck to get his car back should use this as his stunt “highlight reel”. He could get a job in the movie biz…and afford to pay for a new car in full. Is’nt it about time for a Repoman reboot?

  • Liam Paul

Both tow truck driver and the car driver were idiots no matter the reasons. They ran 3 stop signs together, weaving in and out of traffic lanes, slaming brakes to slow tow truck down. tow truck dragging the car like a complete idiot with car swinging from side to side, almost hit a parked car before the police arrived and that guy on the back of the tow truck, balls of steel lol

    • gary4205

Usually the repo man will do “quick” hook up so they can leave fast, to avoid retards who get violent when their ride is reposseded.

Usually they only drive a block or two…then safely hook the car up.

Repo-ing cars is a dangerous job.

      • emjayay

Finally an explanation of why the car is being dragged. Not sure about the mechanical impacts of towing a FWD car with the front wheels on the ground. Do these guys get into the car and put it in Neutral? is that enough? Shouldn’t they have something to quickly immobilize the steering wheel?

  • Dennis James

It seems that the US is beginning to catch up with with the Russians on idiotic behavior in car traffic 🙂

  • Blade t

Pay your bills and the repo man would never be there….

  • Right of right

Idiot Tow driver, and the are ALL bums.

    • gary4205

It ain’t the tow driver that’s the idiot.

  • Paul

This brings new meaning to daring and stupidity.

  • donald seymour

I didn’t know Carscoops was Worldstar.

  • GobbleUp

Throw them all in jail, take away license of tow driver for 10 years.

  • Bash

He really wants his car back.

…did you just cut and paste someone else’s post? Really?

  • garrett richards

Repo jackazz should be charged with criminal damage of property and public endangerment.

  • Wandering_Spirit

There isn’t one gram of sanity in all this. It’s also a sign of the anarchy that place is slipping into without people even realizing.
