In spite of the drag strip being a little wet, this modded Porsche 997 put up some amazing times against hard-charging opposition.

We know from previous events that a 9ff-tuned 997 Turbo can hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in less than 3 seconds. In fact, a 1,200 HP example did it in 2.8 seconds at a SSC500 event last summer, while boasting a top speed of 400 km/h (249 mph).

As it so happens, this one has 200 more horses and sounds more menacing than the clown from IT. In its first run against an Audi RS7, the Porsche needed just 8.89 seconds to cover a standing 1/4 mile.

What it did for an encore was even more spectacular though. It went up against a hyper-powered Audi S2 Avant, losing on the first run, and winning the second, towards the end of the video.

Its best time 1/4 mile time of the day was 8.56 seconds. To put that into perspective, the 2018 Dodge Challenger Demon is slower by a full second, while the McLaren P1 / 918 Spyder / LaFerrari trio will barely get under 10 seconds flat.

Old and really lightweight Audi S2 Avants aside, you probably need a twin-turbo setup on your Lambo or your GT-R in order to give this tuned 911 a proper challenge.
