2018 Lexus LX570 S Snapped In The Flesh

A month after we got our first taste of the 2017 Lexus LX570 Superior, a number of images have emerged showing the off-roader in the Middle East.

This high-end version of the LX will be sold exclusively in Russia and the Middle East and provides the SUV with a unique and somewhat ‘sporty’ look.

The most obvious inclusion to the Superior model is a bold bodykit that wouldn’t be out of place on a TRD-badged model. For example, tront bumper now consists of a set of two fake air intakes and a spindle front grille which been blacked out. At the sides, there are a set of bespoke skirts and bigger wheels. Like the front fascia, the rear has also gained some weight and now incorporates a unique bumper.

These images also offer us our first glimpse of the LX570 Superior’s interior which includes red and black leather and a set of aluminum pedals.

Engine options remain unconfirmed but are likely to include a 5.7-liter V8 with 372 hp and 394 lb-ft of torque.

Hat tip to hamad1two3 for the photos!

Ugly is included at no extra cost!

Every time I see a picture of this car I look for a sign in its headlights that it might be being held against its will… Was that a blinker? Or a flash of a high beam? No? ok. You just say the word LX570 and I will get you to a shelter.

I have a question and perhaps someone can help me understand the LX lineage. So how many versions of the LX has existed and what years were the model’s changed? All I can remember is one definite change and everything since then has been modification and updates to the 2nd model/ version.

    • Matt

The LX is in its third generation, the first being launched in 1995. Because it’s based on the Land Cruiser which has a longer than average model life, it seems to receive multiple updates within a life cycle to keep it fresh.

        1st Model: 95 – 97
        2nd Model: 98 – 2007
        3rd Model: 2007 – Current

That’s where I was mixed up. I didn’t realize that the 95 – 97 was a different model from the 98’s. I just figured that they changed the lights. Now it makes sense. So the first version was only around for 3 years before they changed it.

Well it’s about time for an updated vehicle wouldn’t you say?

This eyesore would benefit immensely from a front end collision.

As with all Lexus SUVs this is very ugly – no wonder they don’t sell many.

Good god, this is horrendous. Somebody cremate this immediately.

This thing will scare the neighbors for sure.

  • Auf Wiedersehen

I have taken the liberty to fix some design cues they seemed to have forgotten in the studio. I’m sure they will approve. I use a very sophisticated software package that all the designers use.
