The all new Bentley Continental GT has made its public debut on the first day of the Frankfurt Motor Show.

One of the more impressive entries at this year’s show, the new Bentley Continental GT makes the previous-gen model look like a truck in comparison; the shape is now much more fluid and sculptural, while the revised proportions have done wonders for the British gran tourer.

Under the bonnet lies the company’s twin-turbo 6.0-liter W12 which is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The numbers are 635 PS (626 hp) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque, enabling the new Conti GT to sprint from naught to 60 in 3.6 seconds (0-100kph in 3.7) while top speed is a very impressive 207mph (333kph).

The 48-volt electrical architecture enabled Bentley to fit the cutting-edge Dynamic Ride, a system that electronically controls the anti-roll bars on each axle, along with a revised air suspension that can be filled with 60 percent more air in its softest setting.

As for the cabin, it looks like one of the best and more luxurious environments available in a car today. More than 10 square meters of wood are used in each Continental GT, with the wooden inlays requiring nine hours to be created and fitted by hand. The 12.3-inch retina-quality infotainment display is mounted on a rotating mechanism which has three sides; think of it as a rotating toblerone, with the third side featuring three analogue dials.

Everything on the 2018 Bentley Continental GT screams “masterpiece” and we haven’t yet seen it on the roads.
