BMW has announced a new logo that’ll be used to market, promote and sell its most exclusive models.

Rather than using the same black, white and blue logo for all of its models, the company will use a simplified black and white logo that also reads ‘Bayerische Motoren Werke’. Black and white badges will also be used by the firm’s most premium models.

BMW hasn’t specified exactly which models will get the elegant new badge but the 7-Series, upcoming 8-Series and i8 are three likely recipients. Future models like the X7 SUV will also be present in the exclusive range of premium BMWs.

Of all the models mentioned, it is the reborn 8-Series that really has enthusiasts salivating. BMW first previewed the vehicle through a stunning coupe concept and a camouflaged M8 prototype a few months ago. Like the 6-Series it replaces, the 8-Series will also be sold in convertible and gran coupe body styles.
