Opel Wants Us To Go Camping With New Vivaro Life

Besides the new Tourer and Combi+ passenger variants of the new Vivaro, Opel will also present the Life camper van at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.

It benefits from the same exterior look of the Vivaro Tourer, such as the high-gloss black door and tailgate handles, and side-view mirror housings, to which it adds 17-inch BiColor alloy wheels and extra-dark tinted windows behind the B pillars.

Sliding the rear door reveals standard swiveling individual seats in the second row, and a moveable, rail mounted seat bench equipped with a mechanism that allows it to be turned into a bed in seconds. A folding table between the second and third rows, auxiliary heater, LED overhead lighting, and others, ensure a comfortable place regardless if it’s night or day, or how cold it is outside.

Other standard features are the air conditioning, Park Assist, six-way adjustable seats with armrest, lumbar support, and side airbags, two USB ports at the rear, and a 220-volt plug. Additionally, customers can also specify their Opel Vivaro Life with the optional Navi 80 IntelliLink, with a 7-inch color touchscreen display, in addition to the leather trim, or the Irmscher Style Pack.

Remember that the deal between Opel and Renault exists way before PSA bought the German brand, from a time in which a Trafic two generations before the current one was sold as Opel Arena:

Vivaro and Movano will be rebadged Renaults until the deal ends and then will be replaced by PSA products. For now, the main reality of Opel is the one when it was a subsidiary of General Motors.

I wont allow myself to question the history of GM European commercial vehicle division. The client don’t pay attention to these considerations.
From a strategic point of view, it can be rather perilous to contribute to a major competitor’s prosperity.

From the outside, it looks like some kind of delivery van but the interior’s pretty cool with the mini table. I like how there’s still storage space even with the seats down for people to sleep in

It’s a camping van. There are tons of options. This one isn’t an option, as it’s not available here.
