2018 Jeep Wrangler Owner’s Manual Leaks Online

Try as it might, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles isn’t doing a very good job keeping the 2018 Jeep Wrangler under wraps, following the recent leak of the vehicle’s owner’s manual and user guide.

Uncovered by the JL Wrangler Forums, the manual reveals a few previously unknown details about the new off-roader, including its availability with a Power Sliding Top and the so-called ‘Trail Rail Management System’ where a rail is built into the floor on either side of the cargo area.

Elsewhere, the owner’s manual shows the car’s redesigned exterior and interior in full. Based on recent spy shots, we already had a good idea of what the Wrangler would look like from the outside, but not a lot was known about the cabin. Images in the manual reveal things like the all-new, semi-digital gauge cluster and the various menus found in the updated infotainment system.

Additionally, we now know that the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder Wrangler has a towing capacity of 2,000 lbs (907 kg) in two-door guise and 3,500 lbs (1,587 kg) as a four-door. The towing figures for the two- and four-door 3.6-liter V6 models are identical.

Stay tuned to Carscoops in the coming weeks as the Wrangler’s November premiere date inches closer.

  • I don’t think you should call it “leaked” when 600 pages of confidential document is released all over the internet at the same time.

It got ‘leaked’ to one source and then spread to other sources within minutes. That’s the power of the internet.

      Not everything is a conspiracy.

I stumbled upon them while I was looking for another Owner’s Manual. They were posted on a public facing Jeep website, under the owner’s section. By simply selecting the 2018 MY, and Jeep brand, the “All-New Wrangler” was an option under the model selector.

As soon as I figured out what I had found, I shared them to Allpar. Not long after, they were posted on the JL forums by the admin there too. I had initially thought they had just grabbed it from my thread on Allpar, but now looking at my thread time vs the JL thread time, it seems we both stumbled upon them within a few minutes of each other, which is weird, but whatever.

A power folding top is interested as is the rumored power sliding top. Just wondering if the latter is a fixed roof with sliding glass or is it sliding panels as seen in the Renegade.
