74 Cars Revealed For Need For Speed Payback

Need for Speed may be one of the OGs of the car gaming market but in recent years, competition from the likes of Gran Turismo and Forza’s Horizon series has forced EA Games to step up its efforts with the latest NFS title.

The new game, set to launch on November 10, is dubbed Need for Speed Payback and prior to its debut, the full car list of 74 vehicles has been revealed.

As is typically the case with Need for Speed games, the cars on offer cover a range of decades and include everything from hot hatches and iconic Japanese sports cars through to hypercars like the McLaren P1, Porsche 918 Spyder and Pagani Huayra BC.

There are also some oddballs which gamers will be able to experience, including the Land Rover Defender, Volkswagen Beetle and the Volvo Amazon P130.

As with many other Need for Speed titles, Payback will feature an open-world design and be set in the world of Fortune Valley. It will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Holy cow!! I once owned Volvo 242DL!

    • Eythan Aldrich

      what happened btw?

      • Craig

With 97 hp. Not much! haha I was just surprised to see such an ‘pedestrian’ vehicle be on the list!

        • Eythan Aldrich

glad that it still runs like usual…..

    • LWOAP

Now you can own it again lol

  • ediotsavant

I would be all over it if it was an arcade racing game.

    • Zandit75

And that’s exactly what it will be. No simulators to be found here.

  • salamOOn

74 cars……will share one driving physics model.

  • Howstar

Nissan has the most cars, proof they have the highest number of great cars ( in the past of course)

    • Zandit75

And yet there is no 300zx included, arguably the best looking Z cars produced.

    • Howstar

Toyota and any french car clearly banded from this fictitious open world setting

Like they went on Instagram and searched top 74 cars rather than asking enthusiasts what they would actually like to see that no other game has

  • Zandit75

Some great looking cars here, but some will not have any modifications available.
Only some cars will have the full amount of interchangeable headlights and body kits to play around with.
They’ll obviously all have paint, wheels and colours to change, but how many aftermarket kits will there be for the Reggera, Huayra BC & AM Vulcan?
Why is it that they have the Evo9, but not the much better looking Evo10? This is also a great opportunity for Mitsubishi to include their other great car, the 3000GT.
Where’s the Lamborghini Gallardo that featured in so many of the previous NFS titles?
I understand there has been some licensing issues with some brands, Toyota is not longer represented in this game by the GT86, yet with NFS 2015, they were doubled up with both the GT86 & the Subie BRZ, which made things pointless.
I wish they’d also bring back the Autosculpt feature for the wheels and body kits, they were so much fun, and took up hours of play time!

    • Carlos Gamarra

      i completely agree with you

  • Bash

A Barracuda and the LR Defender 110!
Would love to see that Defender particularly tuned and going against -say the Huracan- and winning.

  • Infinite1

    Pretty good list of cars

  • AnklaX

    No Ferraris!

  • brett hoover

    No Ferraris!

    • Carlos Gamarra

It was kind of pointless in 2015, since you couldnt customize anything but the paint

      • Maximilian Norlande Rabbitt

Given the freedom you have with irl Ferraris, I’m no longer surprised

  • LWOAP

It’s looks promising but I’m not convinced it’s going to be any good. We’ll see though. Maybe EA will prove me wrong.
