Thanks to a comprehensively revised drive concept offering the rider a significant power boost, the new BMW Active Hybrid e-bike can offer both useful tech as well as a sophisticated design.

The electric motor puts down an output of 250 W and 90 Nm (66 lb-ft) of torque with the help of a removable 502 Wh battery that provides a range of up to 100 km (62 miles). Both the motor and the battery are integrated into the aluminum frame.

The rider can also adjust the pedal assistance via the bike’s new display, utilizing any of the four available power modes, from ECO (+50%) to TURBO (+275%). The maximum speed is set to 25 km/h (16 mph).

Since this is a lifestyle product, BMW made sure that riders can use the micro USB socket and Bluetooth function in order to pair their smartphones with the bike. Speaking of lifestyle, the Active Hybrid e-bike is available in either Frozen Black or Arctic Silver, while the LED light integrated into the aluminum mudguard at the rear not only improves safety but also enhances the design.

The bike features a short nose, a rising seat surface at the rear and moving side wings, thus creating a stable seating position and improving balance under acceleration and braking.

Priced at €3,400 ($4,025) the new Active Hybrid e-bike is now available at select BMW dealers.
