Chris Harris Hits The Track In The Ford GT

The Ford GT is one of the hottest supercars on the market and Top Gear’s Chris Harris recently took the model out for a spin on the track.

In the relatively short clip, Harris notes that once the car is in track mode it’s the “lowest, flattest and yet the most compliant supercar of them all.” He goes on to say the GT is a very special driving machine that has superb braking and a high-tech suspension.

Speaking of the latter, Harris says the “harder you drive it, the more it responds like a race car.” The host goes on to state it doesn’t matter that the car uses a V6 engine instead of a V8.

That engine is a twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 which developed alongside the engine that resides in the F-150 Raptor. The two engines share nearly 60 percent of the same components but the GT’s engine develops an impressive 647 hp (482 kW) and 550 lb-ft (745 Nm) of torque. It is connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission which enables the 3,054 lbs (1,385 kg) supercar to hit a top speed of 216 mph (347 km/h).

  • Ford Comeback?

There’s no doubt that Ford has the goods, but I’d really see it trickle down into their entire lineup—not just the Ford GT.

The review from Chris Harris that I’ve been waiting for over the past 6 months is his take on the GT350

  • Blade t

Chris Harris is the man,,but yellow on a gt 👎….

  • Kagan

Hasn’t anyone thought of why they have curbs and broadeners on tracks or why they use the opposite lane on normal traffic roads while cornering! It is cheating, on one point you try to say look how good and fast it is on the other side you cheat by going as straight as not possible. That is not a sport!

Can’t stop laughing……are you really serious or are you spoofing?
This is the dumbest comment of the year to date.

Tell me you’re kidding, nobody could be this uninformed unless you live in a country that has no cars.

  • GobbleUp

Long wait and disappointing car….sounds terrible. Ecoboost engine? Please.

    • Hugh Jorgan

I think darts probably fit better in your limited appreciation persona.

    • anonymous

Soooo you judge cars IMMEDIATELY by the way it sounds?

Please, by all means, do return to your children books of cars.

  • alexxx

    special car… Well done Ford…

  • Whynot65

It’s not the car that is the problem. It’s the douchbags that own these cars. Take for example Chip Beck from the Ford GT Forum. Gentlemen! Here we have a perfect example of a drunken fool. This gentleman gets shit faced daily on his cheap Maker’s Mark whisky while in the garage admiring his small manhood laid out across the passenger’s mirror of his brand new piss yellow V6 powered turdmobile. Not the image Ford should wish plastered all over the internet! Put it away Chippy!
