Infiniti Teases All-New 2018 QX80 Flagship SUV Ahead Of Dubai Debut

Infiniti has just dropped the first teaser images of its upcoming 2018 QX80, which is set to make its debut at the Dubai International Motor Show on November 14.

Just as we expected, the new generation QX80 looks heavily inspired by the QX80 Monograph Concept that was first seen at this year’s New York Auto Show.

The company’s large SUV is set to adopt the concept’s fluid styling, retaining features like the shape of the front grille and that of the headlights as portrayed in these images.

These changes are destined to make the new QX80 a much more attractive proposition than its predecessor, whose bulky exterior design didn’t win many fans. However and despite the all-new design, Infiniti is reportedly going to keep the existing platform as the basis of the new QX80, as well as the same powertrain.

This should mean that the new 2018 Infiniti QX80 will be powered by a 5.6-liter V8 with 400hp and 413lb-ft of torque. The interior will be overhauled, packing all the bells and whistles you would expect from a vehicle of this class, using some of the finest materials available.

“The QX80 brings a new commanding presence with powerful muscularity and enhanced horizontal movement,” said Alfonso Albaisa, Senior Vice President of Nissan’s Global Design. “Our designers raised the visual height of our iconic double arch grille and signature headlamps striking an unmistakable road presence.”

    Looking good so far…

    • Jay

By good you mean mostly the same.. I can see the head lights and fogs are new but the model probably exactly like previous years.

      • Bo Hanan

But the pictures do suggest “restraint” was used in this redesign and that’s a good thing. It might even look better than Lexus LX570.

        • Jay

IMO the current Lexus styling isn’t good looking in the first place.

      • Tumbi Mtika

        Except better.

  • U8INIT

I’m on the fence…the concept was a major key….now idk so I’ll refrain until it’s reveled…that interior; however, looks to be the beez kneez…

    • Nordschleife

I completely agree with your statements. The concept was sexy, this not so much but like you I’ll reserve judgement for the full unveiling.

  • TrevP

Looks mostly the same…or like a larger QX60?

    • U8INIT

Right like a larger QX60…idk how I feel about that part yet…

  • LeifMichelsen

Only so you know: These aren’t just teaser details. They simply weren’t able to fit the whole car on a picture! 😉

  • Nordschleife

Is it too much to add some lines to the damn DRL’s? LOL

  • no25

I thought the concept suggested it would look less bulgy…this looks like a major facelift if anything. Also, wonder if this means the next generation Armada will follow this platform or get its own because the Armada just came out on the current QX80’s body style.

  • Auto

It’s been almost ten years. Hurry.

  • BlackPegasus

Will it continue to share the same greenhouse as the Nissan Pathfinder?

  • Big Black Duck

    Please don’t make this FUGLY

Again, really nice Pictures of Infiniti. I wish someone could buy any Infiniti over here (Germany). But since Infiniti refuses to sell them, I’ll have to get lucky elsewhere…
