Ram’s 2017 EcoDiesel Models Start Landing In Dealerships

Dealer deliveries of EcoDiesel-powered 2017 Ram 1500 models have just commenced, not long after FCA was accused of not disclosing emissions-cheating software.

Following investigations led by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the automaker was given the go-ahead in July to start selling 2017 Ram 1500 and Jeep Grand Cherokee models fitted with its 3.0-liter EcoDiesel engine, Auto News reports.

Deliveries of the vehicles come some two months after production of the 2017 models commenced.

FCA initially halted production of its EcoDiesel Jeep and Ram 1500 models in late 2016 after failing to receive certification. In January 2017, the EPA notified FCA that it had discovered more than eight pieces of emissions control software to alter vehicle emissions in certain scenarios.
