Porsche continues to roll out new 911s with a slimmed down version of the sports car aimed at driving enthusiasts named the Carrera T.

Presented earlier this week, it already has our attention for being the lightest 991-series model money can buy these days tipping the scales at just 3,142 pounds or 1,425kg. It offers a 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine that’s married to a 7-speed manual gearbox, as standard but you can get the PDK too.

In manual specification, the 911 Carrera T needs an impressive 4.3sec for the naught to 60mph (96km/h) sprint, before topping out at 182mph (293km/h). Opt for the dual-clutch PDK gearbox, though, and acceleration will drop by 0.3sec, as will the top speed, to 180mph (290km/h).

If you’re not a Porsche enthusiast, then the 911 Carrera T might fly under the radar, as besides some visual graphics, special badging, and a few touches applied inside, it basically looks like a regular Carrera. However, peel its skin away and you will also find an optional rear-wheel steering, in addition to the sport suspension and mechanical rear differential lock.

So how do you promote a new Porsche model that works as a daily driver, but really comes to life when you push the throttle down? Well, in this case, you take it to a twisty mountain road, and unleash its 370hp, in an almost raw driving film.
