Watch And Weep As Dozens Of Exotics Wait To Be Scrapped After Hurricane Harvey

We already knew that Hurricane Harvey had destroyed some pretty pricey exotics but the video below provides a glimpse of many more exotics wrecked due to the flooding.

Facebook user Fredo Sanchez recently headed to the Royal Purple Raceway and drove along the perimeter of a fenced off area where tens of thousands of vehicles are being stored until they’re evaluated by insurance companies.

It appears as though all of the most expensive vehicles have been parked side-by-side in a distinct area and the number and combined value of these lost sports cars, supercars and luxury cars is phenomenal.

There is a multitude of Porsche 911 models, including a blue Turbo S, numerous Corvettes like a Z06 Convertible, a Lamborghini Aventador, Porsche 911 GT3, Dodge Viper and even a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, among others.

It is estimated that up to 500,000 vehicles may be scrapped after the devastation of Hurricane Harvey but it isn’t known just how many of those vehicles are high-priced exotics. However, it is inevitable that those filmed are only a small sample of the expensive cars to have fallen victim to the storm.

I just want one of these in my garage so when I bring some drunk chick back home I will lead them through the garage and be like ” I just drive my 2015 Mirage to the bar to weed out the gold diggers”. 😂

    • That’s a good enough reason to donate these things to people… their “real estate value” otherwise known as “drunk chick stun”. 🙂

      • Shane

Haha you drive through the ghetto and see a bunch of these parked in the front lawns instead of some rusted 1990’s vehicles.

    Make me wanna cry

  • pxsupply

Will they auction off these flood cars? What are the pitfalls/risks buying a car in this state? It it is cheap enough…..

    • Matt

I’d say the risks are… flood damage?

      • pxsupply

Yes of course. But repairable at what minimum cost? If you could buy a new Corvette for $5K…?

        • jarooo4

To be sure you should replace everything that was not designed to be submerged in water or even shouldn’t have nontact with water. Starting with all electronics and
          electrical installation.

  • sidewaysspin

Barn finds are in worse state than those and they still turn them into something new and shiny.

    • LWOAP

Yeah, but finding parts to rebuild and restore classic cars are easier than newer cars.

      • jarooo4

Say what? Finding parts for newer cars is harder? Seriously? What a BS.

        • LWOAP

I’m talking about OEM parts bro. There are far more OEM quality parts for classic cars than they are for newer cars.

          • Bram Morel

OEM parts for new cars are difficult to find? I still don’t get it I’m afraid…

    • jarooo4

Barn finds were not in water.

  • Fabián Montiel

Those Elises, the red S2000, the Prowler, the F-Types and XKs, the boxsters and Turbos, the SLS and the Lambos… RIP

I’ve seen a guy lose some really good cars after Irma hit Florida. Still, though, this is sad but you can’t save ’em all.

  • goodieman gold

why are all the right doors/windows damaged?

  • exeptor

Maybe I’m wrong, but when you know that a 4/5 category storm is coming why you keep the car in your garage instead of some 7 stories public one. I can’t imagine how these cars will suffer total damage in such public parking.

  • SteersUright

Scrapped? Why not salvage and sell for parts at least? How can wheels be ruined by water, not to mention many other parts and panels? Seems wasteful just to scrap.

  • thunder bolt

sell them for the price of scraping.

  • disqus_CRkG23jjbo

save the rims and tires, im sure the lambos are worth thousands, the brakes and calipers, hard parts like engines and trans are worth thousands too. the tesla is trashed.

  • TrevP

    This was hard to watch.

  • Howstar

Surely they’ve grouped all the exotics to be auctioned off… please..

  • Bonzomatic

Why in the world is that unique hot rod in there (00.15)? I highly doubt that would be scrapped.
