what the Compass should have looked like from its first launch. whoever approved the previous older original design should have been fired. THIS looks very good.

    • Or placed in front of a firing squad, the previous generation was an abomination to the brand.

For where the Jeep brand is in the UK, this is more than a little overpriced, just like the Renegade and Cherokee. They’re not really premium SUVs to rival those from Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz or even Land Rover in terms of image, quality or desirability, but they’re certainly priced like they are.

this is LR rivalling, yes, but not targeting Beemers, Mercs or Audi. Sure they’re expensive, but Jeeps are by far better than the above off road, with the exception of LR only. I would certainly rather drive one of these than an X1 or a Q3.

Their off-road abilities are a moot point, as most buyers won’t ever expose them to anything more challenging than a grass verge. For the prices charged, their other attributes are at best average, and at worst, pretty piss-poor. The Renegade and Cherokee are both relatively unrefined and underdeveloped, and their build quality is far closer to Dacia than it is to the cars they compete with on price.
