2019 Corvette ZR1 Convertible Is Rightfully One Of LA’s Hottest Debuts

It certainly takes a lot to stand out in the City of Angels, especially when it comes to supercars. Yet, the drop top 2019 ZR1 has already caused a stir.

According to Chevrolet, driving a Corvette ZR1 Convertible instead of the Coupe doesn’t mean that you have to compromise. In fact, it’s only 60 lbs (27 kg) heavier than the hardtop, so handling should be just as sharp.

“Few others can challenge the ZR1 Convertible’s power and speed while offering the exhilaration of top-down motoring,” said Corvette exec, Mark Reuss, adding that this is a supercar in “all respects.”

Of course, with 755 HP (765 PS) and 715 lb-ft (969 Nm) of tap, it’s easy to understand why the automaker might be feeling particularly confident boasting about this thing. In a straight line, it can hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in under 3 seconds flat, covering a 1/4 mile in the high 10-second range, as long as you choose the 8-speed automatic over the 7-speed manual.

Even though the ZR1 (either of them) looks mental, owners can actually engage what is called ‘Stealth’ mode, which makes the exhaust quieter than the one on a Corvette Z06. Then, if you want to unleash all of its soundtrack, switch to Track mode and let loose.

The 2019 Corvette ZR1 Convertible goes on sale next Spring alongside the Coupe, and is currently on display at the 2017 LA Auto Show until December 10th.

Looks like it is ever more morphing into a Ferrari 599 GTO with subtle Viper hints.

I guess this has to be the biggest surprise in the whole ZR1 story. Well they succeed – this might be the best sugar dady car out there.

ill admit, it sure looks and specs-out impressive. But, I want to see a full review by an un-slanted reviewer. Hello Chris Harris…

Stunning machine severely let down by a shit interior.

The interior is disappointing. It is pity that the interior is very much out of character to the exterior.

I sooo wish that I liked Vette’s! I actually think that the Camaro looks better. There’s just something very generic about them. I will say, this is probably the best it’s looked in years…

Love the new c7 exterior and interior. To the folks complaining about the interior you are like a broken record from the past generations. The 755 ho is insane ..the track performance will chew up and spit out exotics from Italy and Germany. I’m not a big fan of those add on aero rear wings but I guess that’s the “track” package of this top dog corvette. Of course the upcoming rear mid engine corvette is the one I want to purchase…just for something different after three front mid engine corvettes that literally are the most reliable daily drivers I’ve ever owned since new. Corvettes are not only fast as hell they are reliable as hell and maintaince on these cars is chump change ..especially when compared to porsches ,Ferrari s, , lambos , mclaren s, sorry guys but reliability and ease of maintaince with earth shattering performance is what corvettes are all about…just get in and drive…..add gas, do an oil change at 7k mile intervals, buy new tires and drive…it’s awesome…
