All-Electric Tesla Prototype Imagined For Le Mans In 2030

Tesla has infamously shunned traditional marketing techniques and odds are that it will likely continue to do so well into the future.

However, if the electric automaker ever feels the need to promote its technologies and vehicles, there’s one avenue we’d love to see it pursue; prototype racing.

Yes, it is extremely unlikely to happen, but artists Jeroen Claus and Fabian Brees have decided to render a potential Tesla Le Mans prototype for the year 2030.

The project was submitted as part of the Michelin Design Challenge 2017 and provides a glimpse of a totally bespoke racer that looks unlike anything currently competing in LMP1 racing. In fact, from some angles, the racer more closely resembles a spaceship than a car. It’s therefore fitting that it has a number of SpaceX stickers.

Beyond the intriguing exterior design, the concept has been imagined with a complex electric powertrain capable of accelerating the prototype to over 450 km/h (280mph) down the famed Mulsanne Straight at Le Mans.

Windows? Where we are going, we don’t need windows…

next level of stupidity in the name of being “cooooool”….. or “tesla cool”. SMH

These are really cool and I think it would be a great idea for Tesla to enter racing. Particularly Le Mans although I think they have no idea what they’re getting into with that. BUT I HATE the fact these look like autonomous drones. They need to have windows for a real live driver.

According to the rendering, the driver will have an infrared view projected where the windshield will normally be.

I can see having cameras to help with obstructed vision due to high fenders, wings, spoilers and scoops, etc. But otherwise I think the cameras, display screens, wires, computers, etc are unnecessary and just add weight. Some windows and mirrors are lighter and work just fine.

  • LWOAP

I was going to ask about the windows but apparently some infrared view of the outside world is going to be projected where the windshield would normally be.

    It’s fun to dream.

Full EV and Fully Autonomous i guess. this is just stupid.

Would the charge on the batteries last long enough to complete the race? Considering the amount of power it will be pushing out for the amount of time needed.

    2030??!?!?!! hahahaahahahahaha!

Tesla won’t even last past next year. Its stock just collapsed, Model 3 delays ANOTHER 6 months, parts orders being slashed for the Model 3 (means you aren’t selling them), over 1,000 employees cut, big government tax subsidy gravy train dried up, and Elon and Bradley working overtime to spin the Tesla bad news…

Tesla = Super Hype and reality (scary word for triggered types) won’t disappear just because you write a lot of pro-Tesla bs.

Bradley “Super Duper Extra Excited Tesla Fanboy Extradanaire” Anderson…

Any word on Tesla’s stock crash and plummeting orders? Or more Model 3 delays and no sales to show for all the hype?

I guess if you just live in the imaginary world everything is all super duper amazing perfect for Tesla.
