All-New 2019 Subaru Ascent SUV Drops Second Teaser Ahead Of LA Debut

Subaru will unveil their 2019 Ascent three-row SUV at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show next Tuesday, on November 28.

Dubbed the first full three-row SUV from Subaru, according to the Japanese automaker, the Ascent is “family-sized, versatile and capable.” In a way, it’s also the spiritual successor to the Tribeca.

Of course, the best comparison you could make would be with the Ascent Concept, unveiled earlier this year in NY. The concept itself was based on a previous design study, called the Viziv-7, and featured flared fenders and a large bluff grille in front.

We’re happy to tell you that those flared fenders are definitely there on the final product as well, judging by what we can see in this latest teaser image. Also, the headlights seem a tiny bit smaller than on the concept, but their overall design is similar.

If the production model will be the same size as the Ascent Concept, it will measure 198.8 inches (5,049 mm) in length, 78.3 inches (1,989 mm) in width and 72.4 inches (1,839 mm) in height – making it almost as large as a Chevrolet Traverse.

*yawn*….another school bus for the mainstream market >__<

  • WG

It looks like an enlarged Forester.

    • cooper

And that is a good thing. Subaru keeps on with the money machine.

      *which is good.

Subaru did a good job in this teaser showing only the upper part of the body. I tried to edit the image to put more light in the lower section but nothing can be seen, unlike other teasers in which some bright reveals what was hidden. For now we must guess by the prototype show some time before.

It’ll be a mash up of the Toyota Highlander and the forester..

    • cooper

But a hell of a lot less grandma’s will be driving the Subaru.

      • Benjamin B.

I see a lot of old people in Subarus (especially the slow models, i.e. Outbacks)

        • cooper

Not in snow filled states. And down in the south. I think the best selling vehicle for over the age of 65 is a cr-v and highlander.

  • cooper

    Another money maker for Subaru.

  • M Mark Stippich

Looks Great to me, exactly what is supposed to be. For me as with the CX9, I would be interested if they had a 3rd row delete option with a second row bench.

    • xDRAN0x

      Amen to this

  • Belthronding Tinuviel

İ can not stop myself to like each and every Subaru products.
Their SUV/Crossover portfolio is already very good while Ascent promisingly coming strongly.

Reminds me of the infinity QX60, sorta.
