MG Looking To Tempt Buyers With 7-Year Warranty For ZS SUV

MG has announced that its brand new ZS compact SUV will receive a full 7-year warranty in the UK.

The warranty is completely transferable to any new owner as long as the 7 year/80,000-mile (128,747 km) limit isn’t reached. This package also guarantees all genuine replacement MG parts as long as the agreement stands.

Like its MG3 and GS siblings, the MG ZS, which starts from £12,495, also comes with an optional six-year anti-perforation warranty, helping buyers fight off corrosion.

“This is MG putting its money where its mouth is. With the introduction of a 7 year warranty, we are making a clear statement of intent about the quality of our design, engineering and manufacturing,” said Matthew Cheyne, head of sales and marketing for MG UK. “Our goal is to deliver hassle-free motoring in stylish cars that stand up to the toughest of challenges.”

The 7-year warranty will be available as standard on all three variants of the new MG ZS, the Explore, Excite and Exclusive. The cars arrived in showrooms on November 1st, featuring both manual as well as automatic gearbox options.

this lazy attempt at designing is as bad if not worse than the poor effort of those who penned the Jaguar E-Pace …. oh WAIT look at the side profiles of these cars …. the blind leading the blind ….

I get that SUV’s are the thing these days – but by taking MG down this road it loses the whole image and ethos that made MG a badge to admire. Of the Rover and MG brands – of course the easier to sell and build on was the relatively ‘cool’ MG brand. But long gone is the sports car vibe. They’ve taken a badge, seen an in road to a Western market and ran with it but forgetting what people actually expected from an MG.

I just can’t understand why they won’t get themselves a proper car designer. If you want to approach to the european, or at least the british car market, you need to look serious and this just doesn’t. A new, solid and distinctive design may help a brand now seen as a chinese knock-off of european cars. Surely this copy-and-paste will do the opposite…

I love this new direction MG has taken said nobody; ever.

  • WHY NOT AT LEAST TRY TO TEMPT BUYERS WITH AN UPDATED VERSION OF THE ORIGINAL?

With looks like that, the warranty is the only way to entice potential buyers into the showroom! It really is grotesque.
