This Is The Cheapest MKIV Toyota Supra In The U.S.

What you’re looking at is one of the cheapest fourth-generation Toyota Supras in the United States and no, it isn’t as fast as you may expect.

YouTuber Tavarish purchased the white and red Japanese sports car earlier this month for a cool $23,000. Incredibly, that price was for an example fitted with the naturally-aspirated 2JZ engine, not the desirable twin-turbo 2JZ that has gone down in automotive folklore.

In the last decade, fourth-generation Supra prices have climbed drastically, even for entry-level variants. Consequently, the Supra is no longer a performance car bargain but that doesn’t mean it’s any less impressive than it was when new.

Beyond its rather questionable bodywork, Tavarish’s Supra did come with some desirable modifications, namely a new rear spoiler and the bigger brake kit from the twin-turbo Supra.

Would we pay $23,000 for a Supra like this? Probably not, but it’s clear many enthusiasts would.

There’s not enough demand in the world that would get me to spend anywhere near $20k on a naturally aspirated Toyota Supra.

Anyone willing to do so is perpetuating a market bubble on these cars.

    • Mill0048

I generally agree with that. Though if a particular example was closer to factory condition (stock) with low miles and desirable features (manual), it could be worth it.

If the guy has the cash, couldn’t he just buy the twin turbo system ? Might cost a lot but may be worth it.
Or just making a swap with a funnier engine

  • cargeniuass

WOW, thanks alot fast and furious franchise….
23k, for the NA 2jz supra????????? AND its the CHEAPEST in the US??
I always thought it was a beautiful car, but that’s ridiculous.
A street legal JDM skyline GTR can be had for the same if not cheaper and thats much more rare!

    • Eagle By Singer

As opposed to the European skyline GTR?

You don’t have to emphasise ‘JDM’

      • pureworx

Actually, there were no european skyline GTR apart from the 100 officially imported by middlehurst nissan and converted to match uk legal requirements.

so JDM is the correct term since it was a japanese domestic market car.

        • Eagle By Singer

Ummm, no. Not really. If you say “Skyline GTR” to someone, the only question they’ll ask is which generation (r32,33,etc.) and not if it was one of the 100 imported into Europe

          • pureworx

but a right hand drive car is not european.. it is jdm and it is still an import.

    • Jay

spot on n why you its lame buying a supra at these prices. would rather a similar era 300zx.

  • Zed68

Questionable bodywork ? This is pretty tame and acceptable. Not saying I’d buy this, but it could be much worse.

  • Jay

love toyota rwd sports coupes but the Supra has jumped a shark in cost. To know this was aggravated by Fast n Furious makes it worse- especially since that also left them all destroyed by mods.

  • eb110americana

There is no way this is near the cheapest 4th gen Supra out there. Maybe the cheapest low mileage or in good shape, but there are tons of clapped-out ones for less.

  • SteersUright

$23k for an ancient, unattractive, base version of a sports car? No thanks. If it was the twin turbo model, that would at least be much more interesting. Who on earth wants the base model?

  • nastinupe

The Supra, RX-7, R-34 and NSX are so over priced. The market perpetuates it’s self with the same individuals.
