2018 Jeep Wrangler Is Still An Off-Road Animal, Only Easier To Live With

The new generation Jeep Wrangler promises to be better than its predecessor in every single aspect, and now it’s time to find out if it delivers the goods.

It took Jeep 11 years to replace the outgoing JK model with the new JL. The automaker’s latest off-roader may look too similar with the previous one for some, but fans will recognize the new one more easily.

The 2018 Wrangler will be offered with the 285hp 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 paired to either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic. A 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder with 268hp is also making its debut, while Jeep will add a 3.0-liter diesel in the range later on.

If you want the most off-road capable version, then you’ll have to go for the Rubicon, as it features 33-inch off-road tires, disconnecting anti-roll bars, a modular front bumper and Dana 44 axles, among others.

Is the new Wrangler worthy of its iconic nameplate? Edmunds delivers its first driving impressions on the video linked below.

That picture with the “Video” tricked me…

I fell for that, too when CS first started doing it.

  • Good to hear that FCA didn’t messed up the new Wrangler.

    • Moveon Libtards

Didnt mess it up and made it A LOT BETTER.

Check out all the glowing reviews on YouTube.

  • Six Thousand Times

Every jackass who moves to Colorado, buys himself a Wrangler and then goes around driving it terribly. Still, this is a really impressive vehicle. I’d have one if I could afford to use it as a toy at the weekend.

    • Moveon Libtards

Outstanding vehicle. Everything is easier to operate and it is super comfortable now.

  • Moveon Libtards

The reviews for the new Jeep are simply amazing. They listened to their customers and vastly improved it in every way. There is nothing in the segment that can compete with it and Jeeps are still very cool to own.

Congrats to the Jeep team on a job well done.

  • Craig

I think it’s THE most impressive vehicle made.

  • Bash

FCA CAN do something right after all.

    • Belthronding Tinuviel

you wouldn’t be that much sure, İT İS still FCA! (and Sergio..)

      • Bash

Perhaps the main reason why they did so well on this Jeep, is that all the design and development works were done Behind Sergio’s back… lool
        just saying mate.
