Audi has added Amazon Music to it’s MMI infotainment system found in a multitude of 2017 and 2018 models.

Owners of the 2017 or 2018 A3, A4, A4 Allroad, Q7, R8, TT, and 2018 Q5, and A5 vehicles will be able to access Amazon Music through the Audi MMI connect smartphone application.

When Amazon Music has been accessed through the app, drivers can interact with the music streaming service through the infotainment system, powered by in-vehicle WiFi. • Data grabbing spiral

Another one of those re-replicating features that’s not a really bringing anything new to the table for the end customer. My infotainment is already “interacting” with Amazon music in my 2012 car streaming via bluetooth. And all the in-vehicle buttons/controls/info screens work perfectly with my smartphone.

Why the need to go through an Audi smartphone app to facilitate an Amazon app to stream via wifi? Is it so Audi can also sell my profile data….
