Hennessey To Boost 2019 Corvette ZR1 To 1200 HP

Although most of us are still trying to wrap our heads around the insane 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Hennessey Performance has announced three upcoming packages for the supercar, one of which promises to deliver 1,200 hp.

The entry-level kit, dubbed the HPE850 upgrade, will see the LT5 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine equipped with a lower pulley upgrade, high flow cylinder heads, upgraded valve springs, intakes and exhaust valves, new air induction system, stainless steel heads, stainless steel midpipes, custom camshafts, and high-flow catalytic converters.

With these mechanical upgrades working alongside software tweaks, the upgrade will lift power from 750 hp to 850 hp, resulting in a 0-60 mph (96 km/h) time of roughly 2.6 seconds and a 10.3 second quarter mile at 136 mph.

Next in the range will be the HPE1000 package. Utilizing many similar upgrades to the HPE850 package but some add-ons, including a new supercharger and intercooler, the car should reach 60 mph in 2.5 seconds, run the quarter mile in 9.7 seconds at 147 mph and exceed 220 mph, all thanks to 1000 hp and 966 lb-ft of torque.

Last but not least will be the HPE1200. Pumping out 1200 hp at 6,400 rpm and 1066 lb-ft of torque, it’ll achieve 0-60 mph in 2.2 seconds, the quarter mile in 9.2 seconds and potentially reach more than 230 mph.

No pricing details have been announced but Hennessey says it will offer 2-year, 24,000-mile warranties for the HPE850 and HPE1000 packages and a 1 year, 12-mile warranty for the HPE1200.

Wow. but can that engine take it? that’s a lot of hp pressure. 12 mile warranty, lol. that means they know the owners of the hpe1200 will push it to the limit whenever possible. this car is a beast as it is, and with the stock warranty its a bargain. if i owned one id leave it alone.

    • Bo Hanan

Hennessey is the Sarah Palin of the automotive world. Just chimes in with unrealistic claims just to try and stay relevant.

  • Matt

Hennessey gets its own article for an upgrade they haven’t even made yet?

    • Lol always been like that. Saleen, Callaway also get the same treatment.

  • Auf Wiedersehen

“Hennessey To Boost 2019 Corvette ZR1 To 1200 HP That Will Render It Completely Useless”

    • Bo Hanan

      100% agree. Why would you?

      • Auf Wiedersehen

Because he’s all about records and superchargers on cars with menacing names that they must spend as much time coming up with. He’s a 21st century snake oil salesman.

        • Because there is always someone out there who bought it to boast hp or simply drag racing… Hennessey isn’t just the only player in town.

  • Shane

Remember being excited about HP figures from tuning companies like 15-20 years ago?

    • When 600hp is a magical number. How things have changed

      • Shane

They just ran an article about some tuned 600hp Benz. 😂

Hennessey To Boost 2019 Corvette ZR1 To 1200 HP

…..and in the process making it nearly impossible for the ZR1 to utilize it’s full capabilities on the track which defeats the entire purpose of the ZR1. On top of that, someone is going to get Hennescrewed and file a lawsuit when the company refuses to give another disgruntled customer a refund because of shoddy craftsmanship.

    There ya go.

    • Lol that is why better test drive than placing order.

But they did that with 800hp Z/28 and GT350R. So nothing new.

  • Brad Wooldridge

Those 0-60 times would only be possible with racing slicks. Total waste of time and money.

  • As long they finish their customer car. Every once in a while I keep hearing problem with them.
