Order The New VW Polo GTI From €23,950 In Germany [74 Images]

Volkswagen has started taking preliminary orders for the 2018 Polo GTI in Germany.

Building upon the sixth-gen supermini, the range-topping model has a €23,950 ($28,159) starting price, making it just €600 ($705) more expensive than one of its main rivals, the Renault Clio RS.

The 2018 Volkswagen Polo GTI is a lot of car for the money, as it sports a more aggressive design, rides on 17-inch alloy wheels and comes with specific sports seats that are dressed with the legendary ‘Clark’ plaid pattern, among other.

Optional extras include 18-inch alloy wheels, a first for the hot Polo, LED headlights, adjustable sports running gear, a panoramic sliding sunroof which claims to be the largest in the segment, a 300-watt Beats premium sound system, digital instrument cluster, and numerous driver assistance systems.

However, beneath the new sheet metal is where the action takes place. A 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, sourced from the previous-gen Golf GTI, is delivering 200PS (197hp) and 320Nm (236lb-ft) of torque. Paired to a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the new Polo GTI takes 6.7sec for the classic 0-100km/h (62mph), before maxing out at 237km/h (147mph).

this is the cost of what the golf should be. and this should be less. iv been to dealers, they are all over priced.

    • NoBrainer

sure is… you seen the price of a (bog standard) VW T6 California Ocean…??
With choice extras it becomes MercedesS-Class money…!!!!

  • Puddingpopper

    torsion beam ewwwwwww

  • DealBreaker

The design of the rear lights is a deal breaker for me…. it looks sooo much like the previous gen car, which I did not think much of anyway. The Polo rear lights should be slim and stretch more across the rear… bit like the Golfs.
For the price VW asks for their cars, their cars should be perfect. Alas NO IMO…! (Not to mention reliability)

  • Kyle Newberry

Why can’t we get this in the US. A Fiesta ST competitor with a nice interior!

    • NoBrainer

Because VW will never be able to charge the price VW would like to charge you….
…and if they did few Americans would buy it.

    • OdysseyTag

Also seems that entire segment has diminished in the States over the past few years.

    • Vassilis

No need. The Fiesta is better.

      • Kyle Newberry

It may be better. However, if you can get 8/10 of the fun with 2-3x a better interior to live with, I’d call that a win. Plus with the Focus RS we saw that Ford can’t do suspension super well. (And I mean their recent Engines, and chassis are all taken from Mazda).

        • Vassilis

Fair enough but the Fiesta also looks much better. I don’t know how the latest model’s interior is in terms of quality.

          • Kyle Newberry

Well it won’t be in the US anyways lol

  • sidewaysspin

There’s one word to qualify a sporty car looking like this, Sad.

  • Vassilis

It saddens me they ruined the Polo’s looks.
