When Mercedes introduces an exciting new performance model, it often rolls it out with a special Edition 1. That’s what it did with the AMG C63 coupe, decking it out in matte grey with yellow stripes and accents for a rather racy look.

That treatment extended to the wheels as well: 19-inch multispoke alloys with black spokes and yellow rims to match the rest of the appearance. But one owner evidently thought AMG’s approach could be improved upon, so he turned to the folks at Forgiato.

Arguably best known for its often-outlandish oversized rolling-stock upgrades, Forgiato in this case found just the right set to complement the existing treatment instead of overshadowing it. The company’s Technica TEC 2.6 wheels look like just the right fit, with a classic five-spoke design and modular rims, while keeping the black and yellow color combination.

All the better, we say, for channeling all the 503 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque coming out of the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that powers the top-spec C63 S.

It looks like the customer (wisely) opted for the available carbon-ceramic brake package, too, filling those wheels to the brim and keeping all that power in check. We’re talking about a machine that’ll run to 60 in under four seconds here, after all.

Between the new wheels, the big brakes and the gloss-black AMG Aerodynamics Package that are part of the Edition 1, this luxurious sports coupe looks ready to hit the track – but it would probably feel much better out on the open road.
