New Lamborghini Aventador Performante Makes Even The Veneno Seem Tame

The Lamborghini Aventador has been around for roughly seven years but it’s still got some life in it. If these spy images are any indication, the Italian marque is going to ensure the supercar goes out with a bang.

In November last year, a pair of spy images surfaced reportedly showing a potential Aventador Performante, based around the facelifted Aventador S. What we have here appears to be the latest Performante prototype, now adorned with even more outlandish aerodynamic parts.

At the rear, the car is simply other-worldly. For starters, it has a similar exhaust setup to the Huracan Performante and adopts a menacing diffuser. Cast your eyes upwards and you’ll notice a huge rear wing with intriguing uprights that extend vertically and then horizontally where they meet up with the wing’s endplates. It could very well be an example of the latest version of Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA).

Final upgrades visible at the rear include a small shark fin just in front of the wing and a unique engine cover.

A host of modifications have also been made to the front and sides. There appear to be extended side skirts as well as enlarged side air intakes to feed the upgraded 6.5-liter V12 engine. Additionally, the front nose consists of an extended splitter, revised air intakes and aerodynamic slats similar to those from the Huracan Performante.

It is difficult to say how much power this hardcore Aventador will have but a horsepower figure approaching 800 seems likely.

I take it the topless version of the Huracan Performante will probably get unveiled shorty before or after this.

This is WILD, the side intake looks gigantic ! Lamborghini seems to be on a roll lately

  • Bo Hanan

If the title hadn’t said lamborghini I would have had no idea what it was wrapped in that camo.

    • Oliver Moore

      That’s kind of the idea.

    • S3XY

Took me 1 second to identify this was an Aventador without seeing the title. I know what all cars look like. Camo or no camo.

  • Wow Lamborghini finds away to make the Aventador looks more insane, with 4 wheel steering and 800hp, I wonder how it will compare to pre facelift SV.

  • SteersUright

Lambo’s may not be the fastest or all-around best, but they sure are stunning. This Aventador is the definition of a supercar, the kind with the looks and V12 howl that makes kids gape in awe. This is something I hope that others like McLaren eventually figure out. Competence is hardly the only quality supercars should have.

McLaren is about is all about efficiency you wont see them build a V12. Frankly, the future is turbo charging.

how would a manufacturer make somehing better, sexier and wilder than older products as lambo? i have no idea.
they made diablo, then murcielago came up and now damn aventador.. no have a single word.same thought for regular huracan which is perfect, then they figured out how to make it nasty and performante seduced we all.
i am sure that nothing could be better than aventador sv, i can swear, but i know these guys will be coming up with better one.

  • Vassilis

It’s interesting to see what they’ll do with the SV models. I wonder if they’ll be placed higher or lower than the Performante ones.

    • I thought Performante would be send off for Aventador, I think they avoid SV in case customer got confused.

I wish i could own this, with this camouflage intact
